New York Yankee's pitched CC Sabathia spoke to ABC's Robin Roberts about his decision to leave the team to enter alcohol treatment during the playoffs.

"It's a disease," he said. "If it was my knee or anything else then people wouldn't have a problem with it. You know, it being alcoholism it was tough for people to swallow, but it's the same thing."

Sabathia reached his rock bottom during a trip to Baltimore to play the Orioles.

"I know it was a bad time of the season, but I woke up that morning in Baltimore and there was no other option for me but to get help."

Sabathia said that he has completed rehab, and is looking forward to beginning next season with his teammates.
